Holding Hands Together was the first time I actually looked at the stuff, and not being very familiar with the genre, I found a lot of the things that yaoi fans probably tend to take for granted rather odd.īy comparison, I would say Alterna is the kind of story anyone can read and perhaps relate to, on some level, regardless of whether they're straight, gay, yaoi fans, or just manga fans. I'm straight, and not a yaoi reader by any means. I don't mean to play favourites, but personally, I prefer Alterna a whole lot more to Holding Hands Together in general. It needs to be submitted by the end of the month, but since the guideline challenges we faced with HHT don't apply to this project, it's going by a whole lot faster. Our next project is Alterna, which we're about halfway through as of this post.
After a lot of repeated fiddling with the dialogue, we finally got it to a level we're happy with. On occasion, I'd find myself walking about the house, trying to play conversations out in my head to see how they would sound.
Dialogue in HHT bordered on overly fluffy at times, and while that might sound fine in Japanese, it sounded terrible, translated directly into English.
